Book Review: 168 Hours

Likely over a year ago now, I picked up Laura Vanderkam’s book “168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think” from my friend’s bookshelf. I had never heard of the book before, nor of the author. The central thesis resonated with me – if you are intentional with your time, you can squeeze a lot more out of your weeks (the unit of time the author prefers to think in) than most. I finally found it in my pile of things and finished it this week. Here are my thoughts.

Backpacking and Camping List

I tend to always forget at least one thing when I go backpacking or camping. Here’s my attempt at a full list, which will likely get updated at some point.

Red Rocks Climbing Trip

I went on a climbing trip to Red Rocks, NV with Dahlia and some of her Seattle space friends. I had an awesome trip! Climbing on sandstone was really cool; very different from what I’m used to in Boulder Canyon.

Arlo's Quilt

Earlier this month I adopted a dog named Arlo from the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. At the time of adopting, he was a 5 month old black lab mix, weighing 41 lbs.

As he stayed with my friend Colin and roommate AJ (thanks Colin and AJ!), I was with family in Florida. While there, I wanted to pick up a new skill and hang out with my mother, so I asked her to teach me how to make a quilt for the bottom of Arlo’s crate.

Here are some photos of Arlo and Arlo’s new quilt!

Mt. Rainier

Dahlia and I went to the south side of Mt. Rainier this weekend; it was beautiful. Here are some photos.

2024 Korea Trip in Review

Over the last 2.5 weeks I’ve explored a good chunk of urban Korea and a few of it’s national parks. My ultimate conclusion is that it is an amazing country, with great people and very interesting history. Thank you to all of the people I met along the trip that made my visit the experience it was. To name a few in no particular order: Daniel, 준, Connor, 섭, 민, 진서, Michael, 재, Jason, David, and 진. Here are some miscellaneous photos from the trip that didn’t make it in other posts.

Jeju Island

The last few days I spent on Jeju Island. The major highlights were walking on the coastal trail, where I met somebody that had trekked around the whole island, and hiking 한라산 (Hallasan Mountain). It was raining when I got to the top, which means that I didn’t get great panoramic views (but I did get cool shots with the clouds over the mountain).
